Narrandera Shire Council announces the much-anticipated Narrandera Koala Festival, taking place on Saturday, October 7, 2023. This event promises a day filled with koala-themed fun that you won't want to miss.
We invite volunteers to assist in conducting the Annual Koala Count within the reserve from 9am until approximately 12.30pm. This portion of the weekend is proudly supported by National Parks & Wildlife and the Narrandera Koala Regeneration Advisory Committee, with the assistance of Narrandera Shire Council. Following the Koala Count, head over to Brewery Flat from 1pm to 5pm for the Narrandera Koala Festival.
The festival offers free entertainment for everyone, including:
- Krazy Koala puppet show - Prepare to be wowed by the incredible puppetry performance.
- Bebop circus workshops - Discover your inner acrobat and engage in exciting circus activities.
- Dinawan's Connection Dancers - Be enchanted by the mesmerizing performances of the talented dancers.
- Wildlife and Dreamtime stories - Dive into the world of wildlife and explore captivating dreamtime tales.
- Informative stalls and talks by local and regional wildlife and environmental groups, providing valuable insights into nature and conservation.
- Sustainability-focused workshops - Engage in hands-on experience creating eco-friendly items such as garden crafts, nature crafts, and art. These workshops highlight the festival's commitment to sustainability.
There are numerous other koala-themed activities and attractions waiting for you.
A shuttle bus will be available from Marie Bashir Park between 12.30pm until 5.30pm.
