Narrandera Shire Council is excited to share the news of an upcoming project regarding the renewal of the Brewery Flats boat ramp shelter. This project will involve the demolition of the existing shelter and the construction of a modern replacement, complete with enhanced amenities.
The current shelter, which has served the community for many years, has seen multiple flood events and as a result has developed internal rust. In response to these concerns, Council has decided to replace the old shelter with a new shelter. The new shelter will keep the same style as the two shelters already in place at Brewery Flats oval, which have been designed and constructed to meet marine grade standards, ensuring enhanced durability and resistance to the elements. This will provide a long-lasting and safe facility for the community to enjoy for many years to come.
The new shelter will feature a new barbeque, providing a welcoming space for families and friends to gather and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Brewery Flats. The project has already seen the refurbishment of the toilet faculties at the area and is part of the Narrandera Shire Council's ongoing commitment to improving local amenities and enhancing the quality of life for the community.
Demolition of the old shelter is scheduled to begin on Monday, 12 August 2024, with construction of the new facility expected to be completed by mid-September 2024.
During this period, the boat ramp will remain accessible, however the shelter area will be closed to the public.
Narrandera Shire Council appreciates the community's patience and understanding as we work to deliver this project. We look forward to unveiling the new shelter and barbeque area, which will provide a safe and enjoyable space for all.
