Works are planned to be undertaken to remove the blind spot on the bend of Kamarah Road approximately 4.6km from the Barellan Road intersection. The blind spot is cause due to the crest of a hill on the bend which has been a safety issue for some time.
Kamarah Road upgrade works has a budget of $434,000 which is 50:50 funded by Council and Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Program.
Works will commence once new gravel crushing contract finalised, as there will be a requirement to blast up to 3m off the hill to achieve correct alignment with the rock to be crushed and used on site. During the construction phase, it is proposed that Kamarah road will be closed for around 2 weeks similar to previously when culverts woks were undertaken.
