Narrandera Shire Council, in partnership with the Narrandera Aboriginal Elders Liaison Group, is pleased to announce the successful opening of the Wiradjuri Honour Wall, which took place on Saturday 19 October, at Marie Bashir Park. This event celebrated and honoured the rich cultural heritage and achievements of the Wiradjuri people.
The Wiradjuri Honour Wall serves as a significant tribute to the contributions and history of the Wiradjuri people, one of Australia's largest Aboriginal groups. This landmark project symbolises respect and recognition for the enduring culture and legacy of the Wiradjuri people within the Narrandera Shire community.
The opening brought together community members of all ages, fostering a spirit of togetherness and understanding. The Wiradjuri Honour Wall represents not only the history of the Wiradjuri people but also the shared future of all residents in the Narrandera Shire.
