Narrandera Shire Council is excited to announce the commencement of the Marie Bashir Park Infants' Playground Renewal Project. This initiative underscores our ongoing commitment to enhancing recreational facilities for our community.
The project has made significant progress, with the removal of old equipment, excavation, and drainage installation now complete. New playground equipment is set to arrive next week, with installation beginning mid-next week.
The new playground is designed with accessibility and inclusivity in mind, catering to children aged 1 to 10 years. It features up to 50 engaging activities, creating a diverse and stimulating environment that accommodates up to 80 children, ensuring it is a vibrant space for families to enjoy.
Project progress:
- Removal of old play equipment: Complete.
- Excavation: Complete.
- Installation of new play equipment: Commencing the week of 28 October 2024.
- New rubber Softfall: Commencing mid-November 2024.
- New fencing: To be installed approximately the week commencing 18 November 2024.
Mayor Kschenka stated, "We are excited to begin this project, which reflects our dedication to enhancing community spaces and supporting the well-being of our youngest residents. The new playground will be a wonderful addition to Marie Bashir Park, providing a safe and fun environment for children to play and grow."
Construction began on 14 October 2024 and is expected to be completed by 28 November 2024, with all testing and commissioning to be complete.
During this period, parts of the park may be temporarily inaccessible. We appreciate the community's patience and cooperation as we work to bring this exciting project to life.
