Narrandera Shire Council announces that the infants' area of Marie Bashir Park playground is set for an exciting renewal. Through local government procurement, Moduplay has been awarded the project. Moduplay previously completed two recent projects for Council: the Marie Bashir Park inclusive equipment, installed February 2024; and the Narrandera Water Tower Playground.
The proposed renewal project is set to transform the infant's area into a vibrant and stimulating environment. This renewal project aims to provide our youngest community members with a space to encourage exploration, creativity, and physical activity by:
- Linking to the Marie Bashir Park Masterplan, with this renewal project being a key component of the masterplan developed in 2023. Council received constructive feedback from users of the playground, highlighting the need to renew the infants' area and to transform it to better meet the requirements of the infants age group. The masterplan outlines a comprehensive vision for the park, focusing on enhancing recreational facilities, promoting environmental sustainability, and fostering community engagement. The renewal of the infants' area aligns with these goals, ensuring that the park continues to serve as a cherished space for families and children.
- Providing innovative play equipment, as the new design features state-of-the-art play equipment tailored for infants, ensuring safety and enjoyment.
- Promoting inclusivity and diversity by providing a playground that is accessible to children of all abilities.
- Aligning with Council's commitment to sustainability through the use of eco-friendly materials.
Renewal of the infants' area is part of Council's ongoing efforts to enhance public spaces and provide high-quality recreational facilities for our community. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this project will have on our youngest residents and their families.
This project is proudly funded by the Australian Government - Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Renewal Program and Narrandera Shire Council.
