In a heartwarming display of national pride and unity, the August council meeting was marked by a special Australian citizenship ceremony. Held at the Council Chambers on 27 August 2024, the ceremony was a momentous occasion that celebrated the official induction of six new Australian citizens.
Mayor Kschenka presided over the event, warmly welcoming the new citizens. Dr, Vitalis Ihurarulam, Mrs, Jovita Ihurarulam, Vitalis Ihurarulam, Maryvianney Ihurarulam, Eustace Ihurarulam and Camilla Ihurarulam.
The ceremony included the recitation of the Australian Citizenship Pledge, where the new citizens pledged their allegiance to Australia and its values. This was followed by a heartfelt rendition of the Australian national anthem and a symbolic presentation of citizenship certificates.
